Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use publicglobe.com and the PublicGlobe videos ("PublicGlobe", "the service"), run by PublicGlobe ("we", "us"). By using PublicGlobe you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What PublicGlobe is
PublicGlobe maps world news on a 3D globe and makes a short daily video briefing. Stories come from published reporting by third-party news organisations; we link to the original sources. Summaries, briefings and videos are produced with the help of automated systems, including AI models, and can contain mistakes or miss context.
PublicGlobe is for general information only. It is not professional, financial, legal, medical or safety advice. Check the original sources before relying on anything you read or hear, and follow official guidance in an emergency.
Your account
- You can use most of PublicGlobe without an account. To keep quest boxes and settings across devices you can sign in with Google.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Keep access to your Google account secure; you are responsible for activity under your PublicGlobe account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings, then Account, then Plan & usage.
Fair use
Please do not:
- break the law, or use PublicGlobe to harass, mislead or harm others;
- try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours, or to break, overload or get round our security or usage limits;
- copy, scrape or download the service or its content in bulk, or with automated tools beyond normal personal use;
- resell or republish PublicGlobe or its videos as your own, or remove credits or notices.
We may limit, suspend or close access that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.
Content and credits
The PublicGlobe name, site, design, software and our original videos, graphics and music belong to us. You may watch and share links to them for personal, non-commercial use. News reports belong to their publishers. Pictures and footage we use are credited to their owners and used under their licences; those licences, not these terms, set how you may reuse them.
If you believe something on PublicGlobe infringes your rights, email us with the details and we will look into it promptly.
Quest boxes and rewards
Quests, achievements and quest boxes are a game layer for fun. They have no monetary value, cannot be sold, exchanged or transferred, and we may change or retire them.
Paid plans
PublicGlobe is free to use. If we offer paid plans, their price, what they include and how to cancel will be shown clearly before you pay, and any extra terms will be presented then. Your rights under UK consumer law are not affected.
Availability and changes
We work to keep PublicGlobe running and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or up to date. We may change, pause or stop features, and we may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and we will tell signed-in users about significant changes before they take effect.
Our responsibility to you
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on news content, from third-party sites we link to, or from the service being unavailable, and we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
